Exploring the 380 to 780 nm wavelengths and beyond.

Ovidiu received his bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2010 from the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning "Ion Mincu" in Bucharest, Romania. His first encounter with the lighting industry occurred in Cyprus, where he worked for a small local lighting supplier. In 2015, he relocated to Qatar to join one of the largest construction consultancies, AEB Arab Engineering Bureau.

Since then, Ovidiu has continued to deepen his knowledge and understanding of light as a critical element in architecture. His strong curiosity and dedication have driven him to grow personally and professionally within the field.

This passion for lighting has propelled his career, as he now continues to express his love for light through the creative designs he produces. His background in architecture and design significantly influences his approach to projects, where understanding "what to light" and "how to light" forms the foundation of his work. Collaborating closely with clients and end users allows him to achieve the best results.

Over the years, creating sustainable designs that mitigate the unwanted effects of light pollution has become increasingly important to Ovidiu’s creative process. He has embraced designing with self-imposed constraints while still delivering meaningful nighttime scenes, which has become the norm in his work.

To Ovidiu, his journey through the layers of light is just getting underway.
