The Westin Hotel Doha

Several lighting design options were proposed for this existing building. The options covered designs that can be implemented with a minimal impact on the facade and all the way to making this 5 star hotel stand out in the busy city silhouette, at night. The most complex of the options had 3 main design components. The wall, that flanks the main hotel entrance on one side, is the perfect medium for an outside projection. The main facade of the hotel is washed in random directions by grazers, that can create, with the right programing, a glittering effect. The final element is the top of the building, that is used for a media facade installation. This part will generate the highest attention as it is the most visible part of the building.
